Meet the Team
All of our team members are fully qualified and ready to help.
I’ve worked in the travel industry for over 21 years and knew from the age of 6 when playing ‘travel agent’ at home that this was the career I wanted to pursue.
I started off as a trainee at Bath Travel in Warminster and progressed my way up the ladder through working for independent agencies and multiples.
Having a passion for travel, I have been fortunate enough to travel to many destinations worldwide, with my most recent adventures taking me to Australia, Maldives, Mauritius, Caribbean, Dubai and Europe.
I love to be able to experience the culture and cusine of each country I visit and to take in the hospitality that they have to offer.
Being an independent agent means that we can offer the widest range of holidays available, tailor-making enquiries to suit your own individual needs – giving a personal service is of utmost importance so that you can sit down and relax knowing that everything is taken care of – you just need to pack your case and we take care of everything else!
My name is Laura and I am the Assistant Manager at Butterfly Travel UK. I have been working in Travel for 15 years and absolutely love my job.
I have been lucky enough to visit some fantastic places during my time in travel with Costa Rica being one of my all time favourites. It truly was an amazing trip and somewhere I would have never thought of going had it not been for the fantastic offer of a place on a tour where I got to go zip-lining through the rainforest, visit Tortuguero National park and Arenal Volcano as well as seeing so much wildlife including sloths, alligators and many species of monkey. I have been to a few Caribbean Islands, including St Lucia and Antigua which I absolutely loved. I am very much looking forward to visiting Thailand later this year, exploring the delights that Bangkok has to offer as well as the island of Ko Samet where I hope to have some relaxing beach time. I have been to Greece many times both through work and on family holidays – as my parents’ favourite country, I have had the opportunity to go to many of the islands, including Zante, Rhodes, Kefalonia where I went on my honeymoon and smaller islands close to Athens such as Hydra, Poros and Aegina which are beautiful. My favourite island is Skiathos, with it’s lovely beaches, white washed buildings and pretty harbour, it is Greece at it’s best. My mum lived in Cyprus so I have been there lots of times and have extensive knowledge and experience of this wonderful country as well as some tips and off the beaten track experience for holidaymakers.
I have worked for Butterfly Travel UK since May 2014 and love working for a local independent agency, which is so different to working for a multiple as we have so many tour operators, cruise companies, airlines and hotels at our finger tips, making it really enjoyable creating the perfect trip for our customers. Pop in and see me and I will do all I can to help you with all your holiday plans
I started in travel at the age of 17 when I joined an independent travel agent. This came about as I had been to Weston College to study Travel & Tourism as I had always had a fascination with travel and exploring different countries and cultures. I then moved to Pickfords Travel in Bath as Store Manager. This gave me a much more extensive level of experience and a different range of holiday requests. I stayed working in Bath for over 3 years when I had the opportunity to move with Going Places. It was during this period at Going Places that I became their South West Regional Cruise Coordinator. This role became a passion for me as it allowed me to grow the region’s business in cruise sales and help direct other coordinators in the South West stores by becoming their mentor. This experience gave me a huge knowledge of many of the leading cruise lines like Cunard, Princess, P&O, Celebrity, Fred Olsen and has resulted in me travelling on over 20 cruises in my career. After a number of years working in Clevedon, Going Places decided to open a new store in Weston-super-Mare, and again, I was lucky enough to be able to take on this new role in my home town. This still allowed me to retain my Cruise Coordinator role alongside my Store Manager duties. I continued to work in Weston for a further 11 years at which I saw the company change once more to become Thomas Cook. I’ve also travelled extensively around the World, visting some beautiful destinations like the Caribbean, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Far East, South Africa, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, America as well as lots of European beach and city destinations. But I have to say that one of my favourite destinations is Levi in Lapland. So with over 30 years of working in the travel industry, I’ve been really lucky with the opportunities that I have been given and still continue to receive today whilst working at Butterfly Travel UK. Working with the team at Butterfly Travel UK opens up a much greater range of products and experiences that weren’t available in the past. Come and see us.
I have been in travel for the last 17 years. I started off as a Modern Apprentice at the age of 17 where I quickly learned how much I enjoyed helping my customers make memories that will stay with them forever, sending them and their loved ones to beautiful places around the globe. Whilst I have been in travel, I myself have been lucky enough to travel to some of the most amazing destinations that we have to offer, one of my favourites being the Caribbean, which I have to say is my all time top destination to holiday. I have been to Jamaica twice and have seen a lot of what the beautiful island has to offer, including fantastic excursions to Dunn River Falls and Mystic Mountain. I even swam with the Dolphins at Dolphin Cove – which is definitely a different experience to where I swam with the Pigs in the Bahamas!
I have been on many types of holidays ranging from 3* Self Catering in the Mediterranean to 5* Luxury Caribbean All Inclusive Holidays. I am absolutely thrilled to say that my list of destinations I have travelled to is ever growing and I will soon be able to tick Singapore, Kula Lumpur, Malaysia off my tick list. I started with Butterfly Travel UK in February and since then I have been lucky enough to be sent to Cyprus with the Cypriot Tourist Board where we travelled along the South Coast from Larnaca to Paphos staying in some of the best hotels and seeing the fantastic historical sites that Cyprus has to offer.
I am very much looking forward to the future of travel as this is an ever-changing trade where no day is the same as the last. I look forward to sharing my memories with you to help you and your family make memories of your own that will stay with you forever.
